We are designed to function like a home in the context of personal relationships. We want to create “irresistible environments” where individuals sense the real love of God, our Father. We meet guests on the patio, develop friendships in the living room, and grow as a family around the kitchen table.
The Patio — The patio is the place in your home where guests gather for some simple conversations and begin casual friendships. It’s the host’s responsibility to make the guests feel welcome so that they will be able to relax and feel comfortable enough to come again. At FNC, our Sunday morning worship services are “patio” environments. Since we want our guests to come back, we make sure to reach out to them with a handshake, a smile, a cup of coffee, and a welcome gift.
The Living Room — When guests arrive and are welcomed into your home, you invite them into the living room. Everyone finds a comfortable place to sit, and the interaction begins. At FNC, this is where you connect with people like yourself through attending focused seminars (ie marriage, parenting, financial, etc.). Smaller and more interactive than the patio environment, these gatherings offer genuine opportunity to begin friendships…just like the living room in your home.
The Kitchen — The kitchen is the most popular room in your home. It’s where you end up when friends or family come over. This is where lasting friendships are made. And that’s the kind of environment we are striving for in our House Churches. House Churches are where people meet regularly for Bible study and prayer, and commit to accountability, friendship and support. They are the safe place to open your heart, share your life, and ask the tough questions.
