Throughout the New Testament we find references to gatherings of Christ-followers meeting in homes, ministering to each other’s needs, sharing meals, and praising God together. We’ve put our own 21st century spin on these early church groups and have designed our very own House Churches!
A House Church is made up of 6-15 people who share a common interest or affinity and meet together on a regular basis in someone’s home to connect with God and each other. A typical meeting lasts around 90 minutes and includes a time to get to know each other, a time for Bible study and discussion, and a time to pray for one another.
The House Church environment provides excellent opportunities for us to live out the mission/purpose of FNC which is to help people build real relationships with God and each other. The casual gathering together in a living room sitting on couches, chairs and even the floor brings down some of the religious walls that tend to keep us at arm’s distance. And the style of study and discussion moves us from making factual statements to sharing truth through personal stories and life history.
